STANDARD & EMERGENCY FIRST AID TRAINING
Summit Safety Consulting is a proud training partner with St.John Ambulance for first aid training.
​
Our Emergency and Standard First Aid training meets CSA standards for basic and intermediate first aid.
​
Standard & Emergency First Aid is for individuals requiring comprehensive information on first aid and CPR for their workplace, school or personal interest.

POWER LINE HAZARDS (Workplace NL Approved)
This course is requirement for anyone operating powered mobile equipment in the province of Newfoundland & Labrador. Upon completion of this course, participants will:

have an increased awareness of the potential dangers associated with power lines.
-
help understand and examine the responsibilities of workers and employers under the OH&S Act and Regulations as they apply to power lines and electrical systems.
-
Explains the proper procedures for working near power lines, including emergency situations.

Course Duration: 4 Hours
Course Validity: 3 years
Traffic Control Level I (Workplace NL Approved)
This course is requirement for anyone who is responsible for undertaking the requirements of traffic control of construction zones in the province of Newfoundland & Labrador. Upon completion of this course, participants will ensure:

they have an understanding of safe traffic flow through temporary situations.

they have an understanding of when traffic should be stopped or slowed when needed.
-
Workers understand and are aware of potential dangers.
-
Pedestrian & Vehicular traffic move safely within the construction zone.

Course Duration: 8 Hours
Course Validity: 3 years
OHS Committee Training (Workplace NL Approved)
This course is a requirement for all workplaces in the province of Newfoundland & Labrador. This course outlines:

the purpose of the OHS Act and Regulations.

the duties of the OHS Committee/Workers Rep./Workers Designate.
-
the purpose of the OHS Committee/Workers Rep./ Workers Designate.
-
the activities of the OHS Committee/ Workers Rep./Workers Designate.
-
the purpose of hazard recognition, evaluation & control.
-
the purpose of workplace inspections.
-
the purpose of incident investigations.
-
Workers understand and are aware of potential dangers.
-
Pedestrian & Vehicular traffic move safely within the construction zone.

Course Duration: 16 Hours
Course Validity: 3 years
HARASSMENT
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

define workplace harassment, bullying, discrimination, and violence
-
recognize workplace bullying and harassment
-
identify behaviours that do not constitute bullying and harassment.

The duties of employers, supervisors, and workers, with respect to workplace bullying and harassment are also discussed, as is the process of reporting incidents to the NL Human Rights Commission.

EARLY & SAFE RETURN TO WORK
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to
comprehend and understand Early & Safe Return to Work programs and procedures.

INCIDENT INVESTIGATION
Upon completion of this course, the participant shall understand incident investigation process along with the skills and ability to complete an incident investigation in the workplace.

Course Duration: 8 Hours
TRANSPORTATION OF DANGEROUS GOODS (GROUND)
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to
identify dangerous goods by the use of labels and placards along with understanding the responsibilities when transporting dangerous goods.
Both federal and provincial regulations require that any persons handling, offering for transport and/or transporting dangerous goods be trained and certified in Transportation of Dangerous Goods.

TRENCHING & EXCAVATION
Upon completion of this course, the participant shall have an understanding and awareness of the potential dangers associated with trenching and excavating. This course will outline:

ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS
Upon completion of this course, the participant shall have an knowledge and awareness of the environment along with regulatory requirements and practices.
